I’m Back.
by tyler
I’ve got too much learning going on in my head right now not to do something with it, so I’ve brought the bucket of awesome back from the dead. Just a quick rundown so you don’t get any crazy thoughts in your head:
I’m a designer, a frontend-developer work-in-progress, working on a bad-ass ruby app called OrgSync. I’m gonna be writing about the things I come across in UI/UX and design as well as the bits of code I happen upon that make my day. My code is laughed at by developers routinely, but that’s OK, its a work in progress right? I plan to touch on the designer tools like UX/UI, CSS, SASS (which if you aren’t using you should be), HTML5, Javascript and possibly dive into the areas of Ruby and/or Rails a designer might see. In the meantime, I leave you with this tidbit that I’ve had stuck in my head all day today :
Hick’s Law is a design principle that states: “The time it takes to make a decision increases as the number of alternatives increases.”
Translation: more choices = more anxiety. Less choices = more control. At least in the mind of the user.
