Current Obsession Wednesday: Wolf 359 (Podcast)
I’m obsessed with the podcast Wolf 359.
This fictional podcast is told from the perspective of a man on a space station orbiting a red dwarf star 7.5 lightyears from earth. If you like Welcome to Nightvale or Ars Paradoxica you will be obsessed with Wolf 359. If you don’t love WTNV, or have never heard of Ars Paradoxica, that’s okay, you’ll still like Wolf 359…probably. The story is like a flower blooming, or peeling away the layers of an onion, or a radioactive snowball growing larger as it gathers snow while hurtling down the side of a mountain, gaining speed, and set to collide with some unknown structure in some unknown valley. Also it is possible this metaphorical snowball is actually not a snowball at all and is controlled remotely by a faceless corporation. I’m not sure yet, I’m still catching up from the beginning.
In summation, if you enjoy science fiction, conspiracy, mysterious stories unraveling before your…ears, or just general weirdness, you will love the characters and story arcs on the H.S.S. Hephaestus. An added bonus is the creators and voice actors all seem really cool and have a ton of extra info on their awesome website!
